A Natural Park with robustand more diverse ridge to reef ecosystems, recognized locally and globally as sustainably and responsively managed by enlightened resource -dependent communities and stakeholders towards long-term ecological and economic benefits of humanities through inter-generations.

A multi-stakeholder body primarily responsible in the overall conservation, protection and management of the MMNRP. Guided by the approved General Management Plan and the governing laws and policies covering the Protected areas of the country through the able leadership of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the national, regional and provincial levels. Imbibing and practicing (the principles of) management transparency, accountability, cultural-sensitivity, democratic decision-making, cooperation and volunteerism, gender equity, shared information and learning and harmony. Putting the interest of the natural environment above self as stewards of God’s creation, while carefully balancing the need to address the economic, social, and political well-being of the Park users within the geographic zones of Misamis Occidental and the eastern part of of Zamboanga peninsula.

MANILA, Philippines — The 53,000-hectare Mt. Malindang Natural Range Park in Mindanao has been declared an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Heritage Park due to its “high conservation importance.”

The declaration was made during the 13th Informal ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment in Cambodia last October 13.

Dr. Monina Uriarte of the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB) and coordinator of the ASEAN Heritage Parks (AHP) Program said AHPs are “protected areas of high conservation importance, preserving in total a complete spectrum of representative ecosystems of the ASEAN region.”

“The AHP Program aims to generate greater awareness, pride, appreciation, enjoyment and conservation of ASEAN’s rich natural heritage, through a regional network of representative protected areas, and to generate greater collaboration among ASEAN member-states in preserving their shared natural heritage. To qualify as an AHP, parks have to meet stringent criteria such as ecological completeness, naturalness and high conservation importance,” Uriarte said...

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources 10 (DENR 10) recently inaugurated the Cadastral Survey Projects in the municipalities of Lopez Jaena, Aloran, and Pana-on Misamis Occidental.
